Türkiye’s Hascelik steel plant to start production in April
Hascelik, a Turkish specialty steel producer, has announced that its €150 million steel mill has entered the final construction phase and is expected to be officially put into production in Bilecik in April this year. Hascelik Chairman Adnan Naci Faydasıçok said that the project will not only enhance the competitiveness of the company and the Turkish steel industry, but will also significantly reduce carbon emissions by up to five times through new technologies. In addition, the investment is expected to increase the company’s sales price per ton of steel by up to 15%. The new steel mill will enable Hascelik to achieve production independence, freeing it from dependence on purchased steel billets, and will form an integrated operation with the company’s hot rolling mill in Kocaeli, further reducing production costs.
Faydasıçok pointed out that the plant will produce to the highest standards to meet the needs of the automotive, machinery manufacturing, energy and engineering industries, and provide more competitive products for the high-end market.
